Christianity is unique in that we base our hope on the deity of Jesus Christ. This hope is not the result of what we have seen, felt or proved. It is distinctly Rationalist in its belief that knowledge can be gained directly from God. But we have an enemy. It is disassociative activity, the breaking of connections , Christians call this phenomenon sin.

Christians believe humanity by our inability to totally connect with each other are in sin. To some extent we all do things that provokes a dissociated response from others. We cannot eliminate this tendency in ourselves nor can we repair the damage we have done so Christians believe they require an intercessor who is, because of his Divine nature, not guilty of ever having reduced the connectivity of the world.
