Waste

Rational Exchange is a free market and a specialist in the formation of free markets that is their capitalization.

Rationality is an act or behaviour that makes economic sense from an economic perspective. In economics a rational exchange is an economic transaction that advances the economic interests of both parties to the exchange. We can derive from this the further proposition that the world benefits (is made more prosperous) from a preponderance of rational exchanges. Prosperity is an increase in equity which translates into an increase in the value of the planet.

Waste is wrong because it destroys equity and our ability to make rational exchanges. If rational exchange benefits both parties and by extention the world then waste must be the product of irrational exchanges which means that both parties were not equally able to effect a fair trade. Economic Rationalists believe inequality breeds inequality because inequality provides advantages that are exploited to further the ends of the one with the superior power or authority.

Waste reduces our ability to produce prosperity and limits our ability to increase the value of the world. This is irrational behaviour.

Waste:

The profit motive and GNP are economic measures that justify or legitimize waste. The story about the glazier who created economic Demand by breaking windows is no different than nations that engage in warfare and by the destruction wrought by war create economic resurgence.  These kind of behaviours can never be reconciled with the real needs of a community; they require the interference of the state.

Waste does not produce or generate wealth. Profits and GNP both measure and therefore condone waste. Rationalists do not believe these indices serve to reduce either risk or waste.

The less waste produced the more progress enjoyed and the more effective we are. Rationalists believe entrepreneurs have a deep and unavoidable responsibility for the elimination of waste and risk. We believe risk reduction strategies are best expressed in a democratic economy. Exchanges are a local expression of political and economic sovereignity for a local geographical area. Exchanges are entrepreneurs who assume responsibility for a local resource base. This brings them in direct conflict with the state.

Wrong actions are wasteful actions they reduce our civil liberties and increase risk. People only need to be controlled when required to act against their best interests and indeed against the best interest of the community that is in opposition to their own civil liberties. Dictatorial administrative protocols harm ethical intentions because they are not consistent with the operation of community.  When we are allowed to reduce waste and do what we think makes the best use of what we have specialization and prosperity emerges spontaneously.
